Reality

It is hard to believe that quarter number one is drawing to a close. Some of you are happy with where you are emotionally, physically, and spiritually. But, I am guessing that most of us (if we are honest with ourselves) know that we have room for growth. Our grades didn't turn out the way we had hoped. A relationship we were in has been really hard. We partied a little more than we wanted to and didn't pay as much attention to God as we would have liked. We did things that we regret.

The good news is that there is hope and that hope will be satisfied in Christ. Next quarter we will have large group meetings, Bible studies, conferences, fellowship, and discipleship... and the point of it all is to help you draw close to Jesus and experience the spring of living water.

I would like to personally invite you to take some real steps toward growing in your faith during winter quarter. I can also tell you that you will not succeed on your own and we would love to help you. Email me if you are interested in checking us out. You can also check this site later to find out when and where we will meet... but I would suggest the first option. For me it is far to easy to put something off and next thing I know I have forgotten about it or am so busy with other things that I never get around to it. So, if you are interested in growing in your faith please get in contact with us and we would love to help you.

Road Trip

Every year we all pack up and head somewhere with the intention of selflessly loving others. Jesus said that He came to serve and not to be served. So, this year we packed up and drove 7 hours to an underprivleged middle school in Sacramento. We got there sometime after 2am Saturday, slept a few short hours, and then worked all day. We had a blast and blessed many young men and women who are forgotten by most.

NavNites and Bible Studies

If you are sitting in front of your computer looking at this blog you are probably wondering when our large group meetings (NavNites) are and when our Bible studies are. Well, we have moved from a room in watkins to a room in the hub and now we are headed to sproul. The good news is that we will be meeting in the same room for the rest of the quarter... Sproul 2355.

The theme we are speaking on... thinking on... and trying to work into our lives is The Gospel. Last week we saw that the Gospel is much bigger than we think. God wants the Gospel to be center stage in our lives and He wants it to penetrate all areas of our lives. Come join us as we seek to do this.

Bible studies are mainly on Mondays and Wednesdays. We still have plenty of room and would love for you to join us if you haven't already. Just email me... Brandon. I think my email is on the right hand side of this page.

Tonight is our first large group meeting... aka NavNite. It will be in Watkins 1000 at 7:30. Come and join us to find out more about the Navigators, bible studies, or to hang with new friends. We are excited to see what God has in store for us and UCR this year.

Summer 2009

You are probably wondering who the Navigators are and what we do here at UCR. Well, you have come to the right place. The Navigators have been around for 75 years and have ministries in all 50 states as well as 107 different countries. My wife and I moved to Riverside about 2 years ago to start up a brand new Navigator ministry here at UCR.

When I first went to college I had only been a Christian for a little over a year. I knew very little about what it meant to live out my faith. People talked about the need to develop your relationship with God but I didn't really know how. I eventually got involved with a ministry which happened to be The Navigators. I began learning who God is through bible study, prayer, devotional time, and fellowship. I had a guy a few years older than me helping me in many of these areas of life. I am still very thankful for those lessons I learned in college. They set a foundation in my life and today I have rich walk with God.

We want to help the students of UCR walk with God more closely. We value bible studies, discipleship, fellowship and just about anything else that deepens ones walk with God. We are a group of staff and students who love each other, have fun together, and challenge each other to grow more deeply.

If you are interested in growing in your relationship with God, please contact me and I would love to help.
